There are many unseen influences: gravity, wind, inertia, love, faith, and both good & bad spirits. Therefore, there are many influences in the world. Just remember: just because something is spiritual, it does not mean that it is God.
II Corinthians 13: 5
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
God expects us to "grow up". Every believer in Jesus Christ, must be born again. Therefore, we all start as babes spiritually and must mature, grow up.
Most people only look at the outer man when characterizing maturity. However, true maturity will be better depicted by the inner man.
Ephesians 4: 14 - 15
14. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:
There are the same stages of growing up spiritually as they are naturally: babyhood, childhood, adolescence or teenage, adulthood, and elderhood. Which one are you spiritually?
When a person has tasted the goodness of God, they will never be the same and their witness of God will be undisputable.
